Wike Calls For Peace In PDP After Court Rulling
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called for unity within the Peoples Democratic Party after a favourable ruling from the Court of Appeal.
The decision settled a dispute surrounding the party’s South-West zonal leadership and has stirred fresh reactions among party members.
Wike spoke after the judgement upheld an earlier ruling that nullified the PDP South-West congress held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The court’s decision effectively invalidated the faction linked to Chief Eddy Olafeso, bringing an important internal battle within the party to a close.
Following the judgement, the former Rivers State governor urged party leaders and members to move past their differences.
He stressed that reconciliation and cooperation are necessary if the party hopes to rebuild its strength and remain competitive in future elections.
The minister also encouraged PDP stakeholders across the region to respect the court’s verdict and focus on strengthening the party’s structure. He believes unity among members will be key as the party prepares for upcoming political contests.
