Yemi Alade has addressed questions about why she hasn’t collaborated with fellow superstar Tiwa Savage during an interview on the Jude Chinwo podcast.
The singer highlighted her history of working with female artists across Africa, including Omawumi, Waje, and Seyi Shay, and stressed her commitment to supporting female collaborations.
However, when it came to teaming up with Tiwa Savage, Yemi said she prefers to proceed with caution.
“The big champion for female collaborations is the one you mentioned,” she said, referring to Tiwa. “I’d rather just stay clear; I don’t want problems in my life.”
She clarified that there’s no personal issue between them, but explained that public and media scrutiny can complicate things unnecessarily.
“No problem at all. Fans and media often stir waters that should be calm. I’m not trying to create drama because there’s really nothing wrong,” she added.
Yemi emphasized that while she supports collaborations among female artists, careful consideration is key to avoiding misunderstandings and maintaining peace in the industry.
