2Baba has openly confronted his family over what he described as reckless interference in his marriage, blaming their actions for the growing danger now facing his wife, Natasha Osawuru.
The controversy erupted after his relatives reportedly submitted a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, accusing Natasha of assault, bigamy and financial misconduct. They also alleged that she attacked the singer in both the UK and Abuja and seized his passport and other personal documents.
Reacting in a strongly worded video that has gone viral, 2Baba dismissed the allegations as false and damaging. “I’m a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with. I’m perfectly okay. I recently did my show in Abuja,” he stated, rejecting claims that he is being manipulated or mentally unstable.
He warned that the situation has now taken a terrifying turn, as Natasha is allegedly receiving threats to her life. “My family, who claim they want to save me, have actually destroyed me and damaged someone’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now,” he revealed.
While admitting that he and his wife had a recent disagreement, the singer insisted it was nothing out of the ordinary for a couple. “Yes, Natasha and I had a quarrel, which is normal between couples, but this is getting out of hand. I’m perfectly okay; people see me outside,” he said.
Visibly upset, 2Baba accused his family of repeating a cycle of interference he claims has followed his relationships for years. “My family did this with Annie too. I’m a peaceful person, but this is getting to me too much,” he added.
He described the petition and the stories circulating online as complete falsehoods. “Everything my family and people I have worked with said are all fabricated lies and stories,” he said, adding that the crisis has left him deeply hurt and under immense emotional pressure.
The singer also condemned the narrative portraying him as mentally unstable. “It’s ridiculous and equivalent to killing somebody with this tag of me being mentally unstable. This has to stop,” he stated, while calling for an end to the harassment and threats directed at his wife.
He further appealed directly to his relatives to withdraw from his private affairs. “Writing petitions and saying all sorts of nonsense is not fair. I also want to tell my family to stay out of my private and personal life. Just let me be,” he said.
In his closing remarks, 2Baba expressed devastation over the impact of the crisis on his home. “Natasha has been hurt terribly. You are ruining my home. In the name of saving me, you are destroying another person’s life. Please, just let us be,” he added.
