Adelabu Denies Resignation Claim
The camp of Adebayo Adelabu has dismissed reports that he resigned from office to pursue a governorship ambition.
His aide, Bolaji Tunji, said the viral resignation letter circulating online did not come from the minister’s office.
According to him, Adelabu remains in his role as Minister of Power, adding that any future political decision will be made known at the appropriate time.
The denial follows reports claiming the minister had stepped down to prepare for the 2027 Oyo governorship race, especially after Bola Tinubu directed political appointees with election ambitions to resign before a set deadline.
Adelabu had earlier shown interest in the Oyo governorship, having contested in previous elections under different party platforms before returning to the All Progressives Congress and joining the current administration.
For now, his team insists he is still fully in office.
