Akpabio Praises Calm Party Congress In Uyo
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress state congress in Akwa Ibom, describing the exercise as calm and orderly.
Akpabio spoke on Tuesday during the congress held at Uyo Township Stadium, where party members gathered to elect state officials.
The Senate President said the atmosphere at the event felt like a “communion service,” noting that the exercise was free of the tensions and factional disputes that had marked previous party congresses in the state.
He also commended Umo Eno for helping to maintain peace and unity during the process.
According to Akpabio, the smooth conduct of the congress shows that members of the party in Akwa Ibom are becoming more united and focused on strengthening the party’s structure in the state.
He added that the calm environment at the stadium demonstrated a new level of cooperation among party stakeholders, contrasting sharply with earlier congresses that were often marred by internal disagreements.
