The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has formally confirmed the indefinite suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin over alleged anti-party activities.
The State Working Committee (SWC), chaired by Chief Yemi Sanusi, approved the suspensions following the members’ failure to cooperate with disciplinary investigations conducted by their respective wards. The SWC convened on August 19 with sixteen members present to review reports from the Disciplinary Committees of Ward 4 and Ward 6 in Sagamu Local Government.
Daniel and Folarin were accused of misconduct that violated party directives and of attempting to influence party members to withdraw petitions lodged against them. Both were invited to present evidence or defend themselves, but they ignored the invitations.
The party stated that the duo failed to attend disciplinary meetings, did not submit written defenses, and allegedly harassed party members to obstruct the inquiries. After reviewing witness statements and documentary evidence, the committees resolved to suspend Daniel and Folarin indefinitely, pending the outcome of further investigations.
The SWC emphasized that the decision was taken to uphold the integrity of the party’s disciplinary process and enforce adherence to its constitution.
APC Ogun State’s Director of Publicity, Nuberu Olufemi, said the ratification underscores the party’s commitment to internal discipline and ensuring that all members comply with party rules.
