Arsenal delivered a commanding performance against Atlético Madrid, cruising to a 4-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium to maintain their perfect start in the Champions League group stage.
The Gunners dominated from the first whistle, controlling possession and creating numerous chances, leaving Diego Simeone’s side struggling to respond. Goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and two others sealed a comprehensive win for Mikel Arteta’s team, who have now won all three of their opening group games without conceding a goal.
Atlético, who were seeking to bounce back after a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool and a 5-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt, were left frustrated as Arsenal’s fluid attacking play and defensive solidity left them with little room to operate.
Speaking after the match, Arteta praised Atlético’s organization and competitiveness, saying, “Their willingness to win is evident in every challenge and every ball. They are disciplined and talented, but tonight we were better.”
With the victory, Arsenal solidify their position atop the group and continue their strong campaign in Europe, demonstrating both attacking firepower and defensive resilience.
