Bella Shmurda has shed light on the growing financial strain artists face when promoting their music.
Speaking in a recent interview, the singer explained that many artists are reluctant to drop new projects, particularly albums, because of the massive costs involved in production and promotion.
He pointed out that music video shoots alone now require huge budgets, with the least costing around N20 million.
“To release an album, you need a huge budget, unlike singles. Because for albums, you’re promoting 10 to 14 songs all at once. It’s a lot,” he said. “Promoting songs on the radio, shooting videos for five or six tracks, is a lot. These days, the least you can spend on a music video is N20 million. So how many artists can afford to shoot five videos?”
Bella stressed that the steep costs make it difficult for many musicians to sustain consistent album releases, forcing some to focus only on singles.
