Cubana Chief Priest has issued a hard-hitting message to President Bola Tinubu following the life-imprisonment verdict on Nnamdi Kanu, warning that the decision has severely damaged the president’s standing in the South-East.
He wrote that Tinubu should not expect meaningful support from the region in the next election, saying: “As long as MNK remains in jail you cannot & will never get up to 10,000 votes in SouthEast come 2027. MNK is the supreme leader of SouthEast. His detention has caused us so much setback.”
He accused South-East ministers serving in the federal government of lacking courage and refusing to tell the president the truth. In his words, “They are all cowards… None of them has capacity. They can’t even go to their hometowns because of MNK detention so how can they help you?”
Cubana Chief Priest lamented that many of those close to the presidency are only seeking personal benefits rather than offering genuine political value. Recalling a recent event, he wrote: “All those people on that table with you at Delbourogh Hotel are just bags of deceit. They only want lands to develop and sell. They can’t do anything for you.”
He stressed that while he has remained loyal to Tinubu, the president risks losing the region completely if Kanu remains in custody. “Villa na hotel… your check-out time go reach. Only MNK can guarantee you real votes from SouthEast,” he warned.
He also called on Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma to intervene, saying that the new sentence has overshadowed the governor’s achievements. He wrote that Uzodimma’s legacy would be weakened if he does not push for Kanu’s release.
Cubana Chief Priest criticised Tinubu for skipping Governor Alex Otti’s project commissioning in Abia, saying the president sent someone he described as incompetent, a decision he believes further disconnected Abuja from the region.
He ended with a final warning to the president: “Appeal this judgement & get it right or get ready to check out of the Villa come 2027. Southeast belongs to MNK. This is the words.”
