Dangote Refinery CEO Speaks On Cost Of Nigerian Crude
The management of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery says the company purchases crude oil from Nigeria at international market rates rather than at discounted local prices.
The clarification came from the refinery’s Chief Executive Officer while addressing concerns about crude supply for the facility.
The statement explains that despite operating within Nigeria, the refinery does not receive special pricing for crude from domestic producers. Instead, it pays the same global benchmark prices that apply to other international buyers.
According to the refinery leadership, the arrangement is part of the existing structure governing crude oil sales in the country. This means transactions are conducted at prevailing market values even when the crude originates from Nigeria.
The development has drawn attention as the refinery continues to ramp up operations and increase production capacity, with expectations that it will play a key role in meeting Nigeria’s fuel demand.
