Falake Dismisses Report On Kogi One Term Governorship Claim
James Abiodun Faleke, member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, has denied involvement in any alleged one-term governorship arrangement in Kogi State.
The lawmaker described a recent report by online platform TrackNews as false, misleading, and lacking any factual basis.
The report suggested that the Presidency instructed former Governor Yahaya Bello and current Governor Usman Ododo to honour a one-term deal that supposedly involved Faleke.
He, however, stated that he had no knowledge of, nor participation in, any such agreement.
Faleke stressed that he was never part of discussions or arrangements regarding the Kogi governorship, directly or indirectly.
He said the publication wrongly linked him to a matter with which he has no connection, prompting calls and messages from the public seeking clarification.
He warned against the spread of unverified reports capable of causing confusion and political tension, urging media outlets to verify information before publication.
Faleke reiterated his commitment to transparency and accuracy in public discourse.
The lawmaker called on the public to disregard the story entirely and treat such reports with caution, emphasising that the claims were a complete fabrication.
