Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for restoring democratic governance in Rivers State by lifting the state of emergency imposed on the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the Minister said the President’s action reaffirmed his commitment to peace and the protection of democracy, describing it as a move that saved the state from further crisis.
He noted that Tinubu’s intervention has renewed the confidence of Rivers people in his leadership and urged them to continue supporting the President’s efforts to return Nigeria to the path of progress and development.
The Minister also called on stakeholders in Rivers State to work together in unity for the collective good of the state and its citizens.
Warning those seeking to exploit unrest for selfish gain, he added, “From Rivers State going forward, the only news that will emanate will be that of peace, progress and development.”
