The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has named Mrs. Nancy Sabanti Nathan as Acting Head of Service.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Tuesday by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
Mrs. Nathan’s appointment comes after the death of Mrs. Grace Adayilo last week Monday. Adayilo, who was appointed in October 2024 by President Bola Tinubu, made history as the first female and first indigenous Head of Service of the FCTA.
According to the statement, Nathan will serve in an acting capacity “pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.” If later confirmed, she would become the second female to occupy the role since the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission in October 2023.
Before her appointment, Nathan served as Permanent Secretary of the Youth Development Secretariat. She had also been Director of Finance and Administration in the office of the FCT Minister before her elevation to Permanent Secretary.
Her appointment, the statement added, takes immediate effect.
