Gombe Welcomes Tinubu’s Police Recruitment Team
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Manassah Jatau, welcomed officials from the Police Service Commission (PSC) overseeing the ongoing recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force, praising efforts to strengthen national security through the hiring of additional personnel.
Jatau highlighted the importance of transparency and stakeholder involvement, including traditional leaders, in enhancing the effectiveness of security initiatives.
He credited the state’s collaborative governance approach with improving safety and expressed confidence in the PSC team’s integrity.
Justice Paul Galumje (retd), leading the PSC delegation, explained the recruitment exercise follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive to bring 50,000 Nigerians into the police.
He stressed that the process must be free, fair, quota-based, and warned against any malpractice, including financial inducements.
The PSC team praised Gombe State’s development and welcomed the support and hospitality from the state government and local residents, emphasising that effective supervision is key to a credible recruitment exercise.
