Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has submitted 30 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for confirmation in line with constitutional requirements. The nomination follows extensive consultations and is based on the candidates’ integrity, competence, and commitment to the development of Niger State.
The governor emphasised that this move aligns with his administration’s focus on inclusiveness and delivering effective governance through the ongoing “New Niger” agenda. He noted that the nominees will undergo necessary security screenings before final approval.
Bago congratulated the nominees and encouraged them to stay dedicated to transforming Niger State into a model of sustainable growth and accountable governance.
The full list of commissioner nominees and their local government areas includes Muhammad Qasim Danjuma (Agaie), Barr. Mohammed Bello Agwara (Agwara), Dr Hadiza Asabe Mohammed (Bida), Sulaiman Umar (Bida), Dr Murtala Bagana (Bida), Abdulrazaq Muazu Jakada (Borgu), Umar Rabe Sanda (Bosso), and Ladidi Bawa Bosso (Bosso).
Also included are Barr. Nasiru Muazu (Chanchaga), Faruk Umar Audi (Chanchaga), Jacob Baba Yisa (Edati), Abdullahi Adamu Mamagi (Gbako), Haruna Abubakar Magaji (Gurara), Adamu Abdullahi Sheshi (Katcha), Lawal Maikano (Kontagora), Phalal Mohammed Bako (Kontagora), Muazu Hamidu Jantabo (Lapai), Mustapha Ndajiwo (Lavun), Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Auna (Magama).
Others are Kabiru Abbas (Mariga), Abubakar Umar Abule (Mashegu), Aminu Suleiman Takuma (Mokwa), Barr.
