The Federal High Court, Abakaliki Division, on Tuesday annulled the election that brought the current 13 council chairmen and their councillors into office, describing the election as unconstitutional.
Reports indicated that the court voided the 2024 local government election conducted by the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, EBSIEC, citing disobedience and failure to comply with the Electoral Act.
It should be recalled that the court had previously nullified the August 2022 election, declaring it null and void for the same unlawful procedure.
