Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to Vanguard.
Alongside him, the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and 22 lawmakers also stepped down from the party.
Diri’s exit comes a day after his Enugu counterpart, Peter Mbah, joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
As of now, the governor has not revealed which party he plans to join next.
