Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello, who previously served as Director-General of Senator Uba Sani’s 2023 Campaign Council, has formally exited the All Progressives Congress (APC) and defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Bello, widely referred to as Mainan Zazzau, made his decision public through a resignation letter dated January 7, 2026, which was addressed to the APC chairman of Dogarawa Ward in Kaduna State.
“This is to let you know of my decision to withdraw my membership of the APC with immediate effect,” Bello stated in the letter.
He also conveyed appreciation to the party for the duration of his membership, adding that he valued the “mutually beneficial relationship” he enjoyed with the APC.
Bello, who is a close associate of former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, had earlier served as Commissioner for Information in Kaduna State before leaving office.
