ICPC Links Several Overseas Properties To El Rufai
Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency has linked several high-value properties in Egypt to former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai as investigations into alleged financial misconduct continue.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission traced a number of luxury apartments and villas reportedly worth billions of naira to the former governor during an ongoing probe into financial activities connected to his time in office.
Investigators believe the properties are located in parts of Egypt and may have been acquired through funds suspected to be linked to public resources.
The discovery has reportedly become part of the evidence being reviewed by the commission.
El-Rufai, who earlier honoured an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before being transferred to the ICPC for further questioning, remains under investigation as authorities continue to examine the ownership and funding of the properties.
