Popular Nigerian influencer Barbiecue has tragically passed away, according to an Instagram post believed to have been shared by her sister.
The post revealed that Barbiecue suffered a severe head injury after falling down a flight of stairs while helping a woman with her baby carrier. She was hospitalized and remained in a coma for several days before passing away two days ago. Her sister described her as a “kind, selfless soul” who continued to help others even in her final moments.
“In Loving Memory. It’s with a heavy heart that I share some very sad news. My dear sister and friend (Barbiecue) passed away two days ago after being in a coma. She fell while trying to help a woman with her baby carrier and suffered a severe head injury. Despite all efforts, she didn’t make it. Please keep her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers,” the post read.
It added: “Still can’t believe you’re gone. Thank you for your kindness, your laughter, and the light you brought into every room. Some people leave quietly, but their love echoes forever. Rest peacefully, my dear sister and friend. Heaven gained an angel too soon. Your kindness was your legacy, and your love will never fade.”
In the caption, her sister expressed her grief: “You were so full of life, always making sure we were okay, always giving even when you didn’t have enough. Many people misunderstood you and even hated you because of what they heard, but they never knew you were an angel sent by God. I’m writing this with so much pain and tears in my eyes. God, why so soon? Rest in peace, my sweet little sister. I’ll love you forever.”
Barbiecue had previously sparked controversy online, including allegations of scamming users over claims about her sister’s health. She was also known for her outspoken fandom of Wizkid and her frequent online jabs at Davido, which contributed to her popularity.
Fans and followers have since flooded her page with condolences, remembering her generosity, humor, and vibrant personality.
