Kebbi Govnor Mourns As Attack Kills Officers
In Kebbi State, Governor Nasir Idris has mourned 11 soldiers and one police officer killed in an ambush by suspected Lakurawa terrorists in Shanga Local Government Area.
The attack happened on Tuesday night as security operatives responded to a tip-off.
The governor visited the Federal Teaching Hospital Birnin Kebbi, where the bodies were taken, and expressed sadness over the loss of personnel who were on duty protecting residents.
He also checked on two injured soldiers receiving treatment at the facility.
According to reports, the security team was heading to a construction site after receiving intelligence when they were ambushed by the gunmen.
During the attack, two military trucks were set ablaze.
Idris extended condolences to the families of the fallen officers and assured continued support for security agencies working to keep the state safe.
