Enugu State-owned commercial airline, Enugu Air, which began operations on Monday, July 7, has drawn widespread attention after a passenger was forcibly removed from one of its flights.
A video circulating on social media shows officials dragging a male passenger off the aircraft. In the footage, a voice can be heard saying, “Yes, yes, go down,” suggesting that some bystanders appeared to support the action.
The reason for the incident remains unclear. The passenger has not been identified, and neither the airline nor the individual involved has released a statement explaining what happened.
The plane, clearly bearing the Enugu Air logo, was seen on camera as the passenger was escorted away amid visible chaos.
The episode comes amid a series of high-profile airline confrontations in Nigeria, including Comfort Emmanson’s clash with flight attendants on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, and reports of King Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, being involved in a dispute with ValueJet Airlines at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Online observers have compared these incidents, raising concerns about passenger–airline interactions on domestic flights in Nigeria.
