Former Big Brother Naija winner and rapper, Olamilekan Agbeleshe, popularly known as Laycon, has announced his return to music with the release of his first single in two years, titled “Everyday Anthem.”
The announcement marks an important milestone for the artist, who has been away from the music scene for a period he described as one of deep personal reflection.
In a post on X, Laycon shared that the past few months had been a period of transformation as he sought answers about his purpose and the decisions he had made in life.
“The past few months for me have been about the ‘’why’—why I do what I do and why I’ve made the choices I’ve made. Trust me, the search for these answers took me into the craziest phase of my life,” he wrote.
The rapper assured his fans that he would soon open up about this period of introspection but wanted to first showcase its outcome through his new music.
“I will share this experience with you. I promise you I will. But not before I show you the result of what that experience brings,” he added.
“Everyday Anthem” is expected to give listeners insight into the personal growth that has influenced his sound and outlook on life.
Laycon referred to the song as his “Everyday Anthem,” suggesting that it carries both broad appeal and personal meaning.
While hinting at more upcoming projects, Laycon encouraged his fans to appreciate the present moment, saying, “Let’s take it one day at a time.”
“My first single in two years is Everyday Anthem, and Everyday Anthem is a glimpse of what that experience gave me. There’s more to come, but for now let’s not worry about that, let’s take it one day at a time… this is my Everyday Anthem,” he concluded.
The release of the single marks the beginning of what could be a renewed chapter in his career, following his rise to fame as the winner of Big Brother Naija in 2020 and the release of his debut album, Shall We Begin, in 2021.
