Makinde Approves Workers Pay Boost
Seyi Makinde has approved a ₦10,000 monthly salary top-up for workers in Oyo State, set to run for three months starting from April.
The move is aimed at easing the impact of rising petrol prices.
The decision comes as many Nigerians continue to struggle with higher transport and living costs following fuel price increases.
Workers in the state are expected to benefit directly from the temporary support.
The intervention is part of efforts by the state government to cushion economic pressure on civil servants and maintain stability in the workforce.
Officials say the measure will help ease the burden on households.
The salary boost adds to similar relief steps taken by some state governments as the cost of living continues to rise across the country.
