Renowned Yoruba film star Bolaji Aleem has shared her harrowing experiences of sexual molestation by adult men when she was a child.
She revealed that she was raised by her grandmother and kept the incidents secret, believing they were just part of everyday life.
During a conversation on FeelRightNews TV, Aleem recounted how, at the age of about nine or ten, certain neighborhood men would invite her into their residences as she sold goods on the roads.
These encounters occurred on several occasions, yet she refrained from confiding in her grandmother, convinced it would be beyond her comprehension.
Later, as she matured, additional local men attempted similar advances, but she had gained the awareness to steer clear of them.
“I was quite attractive as a kid. Men over 35 would call me into their homes while I was out vending on the streets. I was roughly 9 or 10 back then.
“Those guys would touch my body inappropriately. They were child predators. I can still recall two of them clearly. They’d fondle my body and intimate areas, and even tell me to touch their genitals.
“It took place around three times, but I stayed silent because I figured it was ordinary. Staying with my grandma, I couldn’t describe it to her since she wouldn’t get it.
“Once I began to grow up, more men in the vicinity tried luring me over for the same reasons, but I refused. By that point, I understood exactly what they were after.”
