Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has once again sparked public discussion about marriage following his recent appearance on Channels Television.
The politician, who is known for his polygamous lifestyle, expressed his belief that “every man should marry more than one wife.”
When asked how he manages to maintain peace in his household with four wives, Nwoko offered a light-hearted comparison. “I’m sure you have a wife and girlfriends. Imagine me asking you to stand on one leg—it’s not easy. But standing on two, three, or four legs gives you more balance. That’s how I see it,” he joked. “I actually feel sorry for those with only one wife; standing on one leg must be tough.”
Addressing a question about the Bible’s view on polygamy, Nwoko explained, “The Old Testament supports it, and I’m both a man of faith and a man of the Old Testament.”
When pressed on whether he plans to take more wives, the senator laughed, saying, “That’s not why we’re here.” But he added confidently that if given the chance, he would make the same choice again. “Of course, yes. I’d do it over and over.”
Responding to comments about his preference for young and attractive women, Nwoko smiled and said, “That’s just how it is and how it should be.”
He also dismissed rumours suggesting domestic vi%lence in his household, insisting, “I’m not a vi%lent person. I respect my wives, I love them, and I love my children. That’s not who I am.”
Ned Nwoko, a lawyer, businessman, and politician, is married to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. Over the years, he has openly defended polygamy, describing it as a practice rooted in tradition and practicality.
