Senator Ned Nwoko has addressed ongoing speculation regarding the age of his wife, actress Regina Daniels, amid reports of tension in their marriage.
Sharing a photo of Regina’s INEC voter’s card, Nwoko dismissed claims that he married her at 17, describing them as “entirely untrue and misleading.” He explained that when they first met, he asked Regina her age, and she told him she was 21. He requested documentation to confirm this, and she provided her voter’s card, which lists her birthdate as October 10, 1998. “I informed her that I would keep this document in my possession, and I have done so since that day,” he said.
Nwoko also referenced a BBC interview given by Regina’s mother after their marriage, which aligns with her age. Based on all verifiable records, their marriage took place six years ago, making Regina 27 years old today. “Any suggestion that I married her at 17 is false and should not be accepted by the public. The facts are verifiable and indisputable,” he emphasized.
He further cautioned the public to view Regina’s other claims with discernment, citing her current mental condition and an abandoned rehabilitation programme for illegal drug use. “Until the facts are verified, I urge the public to approach all her claims with caution and discernment, especially taking into account her current mental condition having started and abandoned her rehabilitation from illegal drug addiction,” Nwoko added.
By presenting official documentation and verified evidence, Nwoko aimed to correct misinformation about Regina’s age and provide clarity to the public. His statement reinforces that verified records, rather than unsubstantiated claims, should guide public perception regarding the couple.
The clarification comes amid continued public scrutiny of the Nwoko-Daniels family and their reported marital issues.
