The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) has announced that 788,947 students have already benefited from the student loan scheme out of 1,193,228 total applications received since the platform went live.
The update was released on Sunday through the agency’s social media channels.
According to the data sheet, 3,367 new applications were submitted the previous day alone. As of November 12, 2025, 262 tertiary institutions had received payments amounting to ₦82.34 billion for tuition fees.
NELFund also confirmed that an additional ₦58.53 billion has been disbursed directly to students as upkeep allowances.
In total, the agency stated that ₦140.88 billion has been released under the scheme so far.
A separate weekly summary covering November 24 to 30 showed that 35,773 applications were completed within that period, with the total number of applications still standing at 1,193,228 since inception.
The report again noted that 262 institutions and 788,947 students have received loan payments for both tuition and upkeep.
