A distraught Lagos father, Samuel Alozie, popularly known as Promise Samuel on TikTok, has recounted the painful circumstances surrounding the deaths of his nine-month-old identical twin sons, Testimony and Timothy, who allegedly passed away less than a day after receiving injections at a primary health care centre.
The incident drew widespread attention after Alozie shared a video online showing the bodies of his twins placed in separate body bags. In a subsequent video, he explained that he took the babies for routine immunisation on the morning of December 24, 2025, believing they were healthy and simply due for their scheduled shots.
According to Alozie, the twins reacted almost immediately after the injections, becoming unusually weak and inactive. He said they stopped eating, playing, and behaving like their normal lively selves.
“It happened that the immunisation was on the 24th of December, and on the morning of the 25th, they died,” he said.
He explained that after noticing a rise in their temperature, he and his wife followed the nurse’s advice by giving the babies paracetamol. When that failed to help, his wife bathed them in cold water in an effort to bring down the fever, but their condition continued to worsen.
“They were very weak after the injection. The drug weakened them so much that they couldn’t eat or play,” he said.
Tragically, both babies reportedly died at the same time on Christmas Day, a loss Alozie described as unbearable.
“My children were not sick. They were strong and sound,” he said, insisting that the twins had never experienced any serious illness since birth and had always been taken for their routine immunisations.
He also revealed that the nurse who attended to the babies during their final visit was not the usual health worker familiar with his children.
Reacting to claims allegedly made by the health centre that the deaths were caused by food-related bacteria, Alozie rejected the explanation, questioning how the same food his children had been eating for months could suddenly be blamed.
An autopsy has reportedly been conducted, but Alozie expressed fears that the outcome could be compromised because the health facility involved is government-owned. He said he lacks the financial strength to pursue the matter alone and appealed for legal and public support.
“This is government to government. If you don’t have anybody, you may not get justice,” he said, pleading for help from lawyers and human rights advocates.
Despite laying his children to rest, Alozie said he remains determined to seek accountability, adding that their deaths should not be ignored or brushed aside.
As of the time of this report, the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Primary Health Care Board have yet to release an official statement on the incident or the autopsy findings.
