Northern governors and traditional rulers are holding a high-level security meeting at the Government House in Kaduna State to address the region’s escalating security challenges. The gathering, initially scheduled for Saturday, November 29, 2025, aims to formulate a unified strategy to tackle threats across northern states.
Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Assistant to the Nasarawa State Governor on Public Affairs, explained that the meeting is a proactive measure to prevent breaches of security. He urged citizens to assist security agencies by providing information on individuals with criminal tendencies.
Attending the meeting are Kaduna Governor Uba Sani, Niger State Governor Umar Bago, Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, among others.
The discussions are expected to produce actionable steps to strengthen regional security coordination and enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies.
