The National Youth Service Corps has commenced the physical verification of credentials and travel documents for Nigerian graduates who obtained their degrees abroad and registered for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Service Year.
According to a statement issued by the NYSC Management and shared on its X handle on Sunday night, the verification exercise will run from Monday, November 10, to Wednesday, November 12, 2025, across designated centres nationwide. The process is meant for Prospective Corps Members whose documents have not yet been physically verified after completing their online registration.
The statement explained that the verification will take place at various centres across the country, including Enugu, Bauchi, Abuja, Kano, Lagos, Osogbo, Port Harcourt, Sokoto, and Yola. The agency urged all participants to report strictly on the date, time, and venue indicated on their verification slips to ensure orderliness and avoid overcrowding.
Participants are expected to present the original copies of their credentials and travel documents previously uploaded during registration. Medical graduates are also required to upload and present their Licences, Registration Certificates, and other relevant professional documents at the verification centres.
For graduates whose qualifications were obtained abroad and require official recognition, the NYSC directed that original copies of Evaluation Letters issued by the Federal Ministry of Education, where applicable, should be submitted at the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja. Acknowledged copies are to be uploaded online by the Prospective Corps Members.
Emphasising the importance of the exercise, the NYSC warned that only individuals who are physically seen with their credentials, verified, and cleared will be deployed, exempted, or excluded from national service. The Corps advised all concerned foreign-trained graduates to comply fully with the instructions and appear at their designated centres as scheduled.
The NYSC had earlier extended the online registration period for its 2025 Batch ‘C’ mobilisation by an additional 48 hours following network issues reported by several applicants. The new deadline is now expected to lapse at midnight on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
In recent years, the Corps has intensified efforts to verify the authenticity of foreign academic qualifications following reports of fraudulent degree mills overseas where individuals allegedly obtain fake or unaccredited certificates.
