The National Youth Service Corps has warned all participants against indiscipline as the 2026 Batch A orientation course is set to begin nationwide on January 21.
Officials said strict adherence to rules and proper conduct will be expected from every corps member throughout the exercise. Organizers aim to ensure the course provides practical skills, fosters national cohesion, and prepares corps members for service beyond the camps.
Officials also outlined measures to improve camp management, including standardized protocols for handling corps members with disabilities. Staff were instructed to follow policies closely while engaging corps members with empathy and emotional intelligence. Reports of assaults or misconduct within camps were flagged as unacceptable.
Discussions at the workshop covered strategies for revamping the orientation experience, integrating technology responsibly, and addressing modern distractions faced by participants.
The event aimed to generate actionable solutions to make the orientation more effective and relevant to contemporary realities.
NYSC authorities emphasized that the success of the program depends on discipline, commitment, and collaboration among staff and corps members, with the ultimate goal of equipping young Nigerians to serve their communities effectively.
