Osun Fires Back Over Payroll Fraud Claim
The Osun State Government has rejected claims of a N13 billion payroll fraud raised by Sally Tibbot Limited, accusing the firm of branding 15,000 workers and pensioners as ghost employees to demand a N2 billion commission.
The state described the allegation as false and misleading.
Officials said the auditing company had been engaged to review payroll records but allegedly inflated figures and wrongly tagged legitimate staff and retirees as non-existent.
The government insisted that due process was followed in managing salaries and pensions.
According to the state, the firm’s report was flawed and driven by financial interest rather than facts.
It maintained that no such fraud exists and that public funds remain properly accounted for.
The government added that it would defend its integrity and take necessary steps to address what it called an attempt to misinform the public.
