Pastor Chris Okafor’s legal team has issued a stern warning to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, social media influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM), and several bloggers, insisting they provide evidence for their allegations to the Nigerian Police or face criminal prosecution.
Ife Ajayi, Lead Partner at Sovereignty LP, spoke to journalists in Lagos, describing the claims against Pastor Okafor as “false, malicious, and part of a coordinated campaign of cyberbullying, blackmail, and public incitement.”
According to Ajayi, the allegations, which resurfaced online in December 2025, were initially made by Doris Ogala and later amplified by bloggers, all while Pastor Okafor was denied a right of reply.
The legal team said the dispute began in late 2024 after a business arrangement involving Ogala and a third party. Pastor Okafor withdrew from the deal after determining the expected outcome could not be achieved. Ogala subsequently claimed he owed her ₦45 million, a claim Ajayi described as baseless.
“Every time one allegation failed to gain attention, another emerged. It was a calculated attempt to see what would stick,” he said.
Ajayi also noted that Ogala had previously faced arrest and charges for cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and issuing threats, a case that was resolved through an out-of-court settlement. “At no point during that process did she claim rape, sexual assault, or an affair. Those allegations only appeared after the settlement was allegedly breached,” he added.
Following renewed online attacks, new complaints were filed with the police, leading to Ogala’s arrest and questioning. Ajayi accused VDM and other online platforms of abusing their influence, stating, “You cannot be the accuser, investigator, prosecutor, and judge at the same time. Allegations of rape or murder must be reported to law enforcement.”
He confirmed that formal criminal complaints have been lodged against individuals spreading the claims and reiterated that Doris Ogala, VDM, and other bloggers must submit their evidence to the police.
