The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by Tanimu Turaki, SAN, has held a closed-door meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Turaki arrived at Jonathan’s Maitama office in Abuja on Tuesday at about 5:45 p.m., accompanied by the full National Working Committee and a select group of state party chairmen. The delegation travelled in a convoy of six SUVs.
The visit follows the recent decision of the Tanimu Turaki-led leadership of the PDP in Rivers State to collapse its structure into the Aaron Chukwuemeka-led faction, pledging allegiance to Nyesom Wike.
The development also comes less than a week after the Independent National Electoral Commission declined to recognise the Kabiru Turaki-led National Working Committee of the party.
