Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and political activist Omoyele Sowore have been released from Kuje Prison after meeting their bail conditions.
Nnamdi Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel, was also freed from the facility on Monday, along with others who had been arrested for taking part in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in Abuja.
Sowore, who organised and led the demonstrations, was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force when he appeared at the Federal High Court in Abuja for Nnamdi Kanu’s trial.
They were later arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Kuje Area Council, which granted them bail on Friday.
In a video shared by SaharaReporters on Monday, Sowore, Ejimakor, Prince Emmanuel, and the other detainees were seen leaving the prison with their belongings while singing a solidarity song.
It was further reported that Ejimakor collapsed and was taken to the Kuje Prison clinic for medical treatment.
