Students Hospitalised After Gas Leakage In Ogun
At least 30 students of Our Lady Apostles Secondary School in Ijebu Ode were rushed to hospital on Wednesday after a suspected gas leak spread across the school premises.
The incident caused panic among students and staff within the compound.
The situation unfolded when fumes believed to have come from nearby carbide cylinders filled the air, leaving several students and teachers struggling to breathe.
The sudden spread of the substance triggered confusion and fear across the school environment.
The development was confirmed by the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, who acknowledged the incident while speaking on Wednesday.
Emergency response followed as affected students received medical attention, while authorities began looking into the source of the leak to prevent a repeat of the incident.
