Tinubu Secures France Military Support
Bola Tinubu has revealed that France will provide military equipment and training support to Nigeria after a recent phone call with Emmanuel Macron.
He disclosed this while meeting state governors in Lagos during the Eid-el-Fitr holidays.
The plan follows discussions focused on strengthening Nigeria’s security capacity, with the President saying his administration is seeking partnerships with multiple countries to tackle rising insecurity.
The move comes after his recent visit to the United Kingdom, where security cooperation was also discussed.
The development is linked to growing violence in parts of the country, including deadly attacks in the North-East.
Authorities have stepped up efforts, directing security chiefs to affected areas and increasing operational support for troops on the ground.
Nigeria is also working closely with the United States, which has deployed drones and personnel for intelligence and training roles.
The government says these partnerships are aimed at improving coordination and boosting the fight against insurgent groups.
