The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives has gained two new members following the defection of Kano lawmakers, Abdulmuminu Jibrin and Sagir Ibrahim Koki, from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Their defection was officially announced on Thursday during plenary by the Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajudeen.
The move comes just a day after Daniel Amos, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Kaduna State, also joined the ruling APC.
Jibrin, who chairs the House Committee on Housing, had earlier confirmed his resignation from the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya movement, citing internal conflicts.
Both lawmakers said they left the NNPP due to deep-seated leadership crises at both state and national levels, which they claimed hindered effective consultation and true representation of their constituents.
