Useni Property Dispute Faces New Delay
The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed hearing in the final forfeiture case involving a London property linked to the late Jeremiah Useni, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
The matter was adjourned on Monday, with the court fixing February 25 for further proceedings in the case brought by the Code of Conduct Bureau.
The case centres on a property in London alleged to be connected to Useni, who served as FCT minister during his time in public office. The bureau is asking the court to order a final forfeiture of the asset.
Earlier in 2025, the Code of Conduct Bureau approached the court through an ex parte application, seeking an interim forfeiture and preservation order over the property.
The bureau claimed the property was acquired using proceeds from unlawful activity, a claim that remains subject to the court’s determination when the case resumes next month
