Nigeria’s Wahid Enitan Oshodi has secured another four-year term as Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) after the continuation of the federation’s online Annual General Meeting on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Former Nigeria Olympic Committee Secretary General, Olabanji Oladapo, was also approved as a new member of the ITTF Council following the ratification of incoming council members.

Oshodi, who currently leads ITTF Africa, earned his re-election in the first round of voting, which featured 15 contenders from around the world. He placed among the top seven candidates, alongside representatives from the United States, China, Turkey, Australia, Ecuador, Romania, and Jordan.

Among Africa’s three contenders — Oshodi, Egypt’s Alaa Meshref, and South Africa’s Hajera Kajee — he was the only candidate elected into the eight-member Vice President team.

He and China’s Liu Guoliang remain the only returning members of the previous executive board, while six new officials will now join them for the 2025–2029 tenure. Oshodi continues to work alongside ITTF President Petra Sörling, further solidifying Africa’s growing voice in global table tennis leadership.

A seasoned sports administrator, legal practitioner, and civil engineer, Oshodi has held key roles in Nigerian and African sports. As Lagos State Commissioner for Youth, Sports, and Social Development from 2011, he led the successful hosting of the 2012 National Sports Festival and drove major sports infrastructure projects.

He became President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation in 2013, championing youth development and strengthening Nigeria’s visibility on the international circuit by hosting ITTF Challenger Series competitions.

His continental influence accelerated in 2016 with his election as Vice President of ITTF Africa (Western Region). He rose to Deputy President of the African Table Tennis Federation in 2021 and finally President in 2024, driving initiatives aimed at widening access to the sport and boosting Africa’s competitiveness.

With a renewed mandate, Oshodi is set to play an even more prominent role in shaping the direction of global table tennis while further anchoring Africa’s position at the sport’s top administrative level.
