Wike Camp Fixes Date For Presidential Primary
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has fixed May 25 for the election of its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.
The decision forms part of the timetable released by the group as it begins preparations for party primaries across the country.
According to the schedule, primaries for state assembly seats will hold on May 2, followed by the national assembly primaries on May 9. Governorship primaries are expected to take place on May 16.
The presidential primary set for May 25 will determine the faction’s candidate for the 2027 race as political activities within the party continue to unfold.
