ADC Crisis Deepens As Bala Denies Resignation Letter
The leadership crisis in the African Democratic Congress worsened after factional chairman Nafiu Bala rejected claims that he had resigned.
The development followed fresh actions by the electoral body affecting the party’s structure. Bala said a document in circulation suggesting his exit was not genuine.
The issue arose after reports spread that he stepped down from his role, but he insisted the letter was fake. He stated that the signature on the document was not his and that he remains in office.
The situation has added to the confusion within the party as rival groups continue to battle for control.
He explained that he assumed leadership after former officials stepped aside, in line with the party’s rules.
Bala also said any official communication from him would carry proper identification, casting further doubt on the document.
The dispute has left party members uncertain about who is in charge.
The crisis escalated after the electoral commission removed key figures from its records and suspended dealings with all factions.
The move followed a court order to maintain the status quo until the case is resolved.
The ongoing conflict continues to shape the party’s future ahead of major political activities.
