A United States-based group, the Plateau State Association USA, has raised alarm over ongoing killings in Plateau State and called on President Bola Tinubu to act swiftly.

The statement, issued in Abuja by its president Barth Shepkong, said the repeated attacks show gaps in how security threats are handled.

The group described the situation as unacceptable and demanded urgent steps.

The concern follows continued violence in parts of the state, where lives have been lost despite warning signs.

The association said authorities must respond faster and more effectively when threats emerge. It warned that delayed action has allowed the crisis to persist.

“The protection of lives and property is the primary responsibility of government. We urge the President and the Federal Government to act with urgency and resolve to safeguard citizens in Plateau State.”
“Where early warning signs exist, they must be matched with early and effective action,” it added.

The group also pushed for wider reforms, including state policing, and called for those behind the attacks to be arrested and prosecuted.

It urged leaders across Plateau to work together to restore peace and rebuild trust.
