Burna Boy has reached another historic milestone after his I Told Them world tour was confirmed as the most financially successful tour ever by an African artist.
Data released by a tour monitoring platform shows that the tour earned a total of $30.5 million, driven by the sale of 302,801 tickets across 22 concerts held in Europe and North America.
The platform confirmed that the achievement places the Grammy-winning singer’s tour above all previous Afrobeat and African touring records.
The I Told Them tour also delivered the highest-grossing single concert by an African act. Burna Boy’s London Stadium performance on June 29, 2024, generated $6.147 million from 58,973 tickets, setting a new benchmark.
Revenue figures reveal an even split across regions, with the North American leg pulling in $15.19 million from 152,378 tickets sold over 16 shows, while six European dates produced $15.27 million from 150,423 ticket sales.
With the record-breaking numbers, Burna Boy has further strengthened his reputation as one of Africa’s most successful global music exports, pushing Afrobeat to new commercial heights worldwide.
