Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has inaugurated three new judges of the State High Court, urging them to carry out their duties with integrity, fairness, and the fear of God.
The newly appointed judges are Barrister Maryam Umaru Abdullahi, Barrister Shamsuddeen Abdurrahman Ƴammama, and Barrister Abubakar Muhammad Dikko.
The swearing-in ceremony, which took place on Monday at the Government House in Katsina, was attended by senior government officials, traditional rulers, and relatives of the new judges.
Governor Radda described the occasion as a remarkable achievement in the state’s judicial development, stating that the appointments would further strengthen the judiciary and promote efficient justice delivery in Katsina State.
He praised the State Judicial Service Commission for ensuring a transparent and merit-driven selection process that resulted in the appointment of capable and qualified individuals.
“Everyone looks up to you for justice, both those who have a voice and those who do not. I believe your position will guide you to the right path if you perform your duties with diligence and sincerity,” Radda stated.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s continued commitment to supporting the judiciary and the legislature to maintain harmony and strengthen cooperation among the three arms of government.
He further highlighted the need for prompt delivery of justice, cautioning that unnecessary delays in court judgments could erode public trust in the judicial system.
