Kano Governor Seeks FG Intervention Over Market Fire
Governor Abba Yusuf has called on the Federal Government to urgently support Kano State with modern firefighting equipment after another blaze hit Singer Market in the Kano metropolis.

The governor made the appeal on Saturday when he visited the Gidan Gilas section of the market as the fire was still burning, destroying shops and goods.
The incident marks the second fire outbreak at the popular commercial hub.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, Yusuf urged the Federal Government to provide advanced firefighting tools, including air support, to help contain the current fire and prevent similar disasters.
He said such support would strengthen the capacity of fire services to respond quickly and reduce losses in major markets across the country.
Yusuf also praised the Kano State Fire Service and other security agencies for their efforts in tackling the inferno.
He appealed to traders and residents to remain calm and cooperate with emergency teams working to bring the situation under control.
Singer Market is one of Kano’s busiest trading centres, and repeated fire incidents have raised concerns among business owners.
