Former Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has been appointed as the factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT)
His emergence follows the dissolution of the Adolphus Wabara-led board by a faction aligned with the party’s new Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed.
The development was announced in a communique released on Friday, following the inaugural and emergency meeting of the reconstituted BoT in Abuja.
The communique also confirmed the election of Isah Dansidi as Secretary, succeeding Senator Ahmed Makarfi.
The board stated that Wabara and Makarfi were no longer able to serve in their previous roles due to their public stances in the ongoing intra-party crisis, which, according to the BoT, compromised the neutrality and moral authority expected of the body.
