Kano Court Set Date In Ganduje Case
A Kano State High Court has scheduled April 15, 2026, to hear key applications in the corruption trial involving former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The case is being handled by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu and centres on allegations linked to his time in office.
Ganduje is standing trial alongside his wife, Prof Hafsat Ganduje, his son, Abba Ganduje, and six others.
They are facing charges connected to bribery, conspiracy, misappropriation and the diversion of public funds said to run into billions of naira.
At the latest court sitting, lawyers on both sides signalled readiness to argue several motions.
The state government sought permission to introduce additional evidence, while defence teams filed applications asking the court to halt proceedings or consider preliminary objections.
After listening to submissions from all parties, the judge agreed to adjourn the matter. The court fixed April 15, 2026, to take arguments on all pending applications before the trial moves forward.
