A female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Jennifer Edema Elohor, was reportedly assaulted and stripped naked by operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, in Anambra State.
A viral video of the July 23, 2025, incident shows armed vigilante operatives storming a corps members’ lodge, attacking Elohor and some of her colleagues. The footage captures the operatives beating her, stripping her naked, brandishing guns, and hurling degrading words.
The Haven360 Foundation, advocating for the victims, condemned the attack as a gross human rights violation and called on the Anambra State Government to identify and prosecute those responsible. The organisation also urged the Federal Government to intervene, ensure justice, and provide reparations and compensation to the victims.
In a statement, the foundation said: “On July 23, 2025, these state actors stormed the corps members’ lodge, accusing them of being ‘Yahoo people’ despite showing their NYSC uniforms and identification cards. The assault on Jennifer Edema Elohor was particularly egregious—she was beaten, stripped naked, and left exposed, covered in blood. The victims endured sexually degrading words and actions, including threats of sexual violation.”
